Magical Winter

If you may, Please check this out. Thanks 🙂

Weekend in Yosemite 😍 with my cousins.

Before I proceed let me share with you a little detail about Yosemite National Park.

Designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, Yosemite is internationally recognized. Millions of people visit Yosemite, about 4 million according to Wikipedia.

Not just a great valley, but a shrine to human foresight, the strength of granite, the power of glaciers, the persistence of life, and the tranquility of the High Sierra. First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more. Too many people visit Yosemite between April to October,(Spring to Fall). Winter time is less crowded so I decided to celebrate my birthday here to avoid the crowd and to experience winter in the valley. Also done a lot of research on where to go for first time skiers and found the Badger Pass Ski Resort where the lift and  Equipment Rentals are affordable. 😉

Made it to Badger Pass Ski Resort around 11:30 AM, head straight to the Ski rental place and rented the snowboard and ski equipments.

“It is not the Mountain we conquer but ourselves.”- Edmund Hillary

“Scared is what you’re feeling. Brave is what you’re doing.-Emma Donoghue”

I finally got the courage to try to Ski. I did not do any lessons, just watch a lot of Tutorials on Youtube 😂 (Pat on the back for trying 🙂) It was a fun thrilling experience. Check the video link at the bottom of this page.

Curry Village is where we stayed. As of March 1 of this year they renamed it to Half Dome Village, a charming and historic assortment of 46 cabins with private baths and 424 canvas tent cabins sitting under the iconic Half Dome and Glacier Point. We came here in Winter so we didn’t really see the half dome.

We stayed in one of the heated  tent Cabins, still very cold though.

Around 8pm we went to the Village Lounge and had dinner(we packed some food) and they sang Happy Birthday to me. 🎂🎈

The next day I feel like I woke up in a different World. I was teary eyed, imagine waking up from your cabin with a forest blanketed with snow and snow-crowned pines. It was MAGICAL. I mean you go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quiet different. To me it was a dream come true winter escape. I find it very enchanting, and I am delighted to be in Yosemite this day. A Happy Magical Birthday Indeed.

We explored The Happy Isles trail and saw Olaf ☃️, and some deers 🙂 the creek along the trail is so beautiful the rocks looks like mushrooms.

Some photo Ops 😊☺️

Im loving the winter and Yosemite would definitely be my winter destination. Snow   day give me incomparable joy.
